CANADIAN JOBLESS COUNT BY PROVINCE

VISUALIZATION & DATA:

The Canadian government has published statistics on unemployment at Statistics Canada - Table: 14-10-0058-01.

The above multiline chart is a user-responsive visualization of the unemployment data by location.

Each line of the chart represents a province, with an interactive legend allowing the user to filter by desired province.

ANALYSIS NOTES:

In order to determine a decent comparison between provinces, the unemployment counts being reported by Statistics Canada is the only official currently available measure for this period of time.

In September 2020 the user can notice reduction of unemployment in most provinces, some of them reaching unemployement levels lower than in April 2020, when the pandemic started.

Even after this improvement, populous provinces like Ontario still have large numbers of unemployment. Only time will tell how this trend develops in the following months.
